Hi lads looking to get a chip or a remap for the m52b28 I recently put into the e36, currently has a m50 manifold also on it . Would be better get a chip or send off ecu for a good doing over.? Don't really know too much about chips and ecu's and all that so any suggestions and advice be great :)
Sending off the ecu seems to be popular. I'm looking at getting mine done soon but want it on a dyno. As only way to show results and get a custom tune to your car not just a generic map.
Technically you need a chip and a map from what I've read as they can't remap the standard chip they have to swap if for a mapable one

D ecu's are different on the m52's and m50's.
Did you not put a nonvanos m50 2.5 into the car?
Either will only be as good as the mods supporting it. Eg injectors, manifolds, exhaust etc. Do both :D
Ended up putting in the m52b28 328i in the end ha :) still have the 2.5 as a back up ;)
