Having a few Issues getting my E34 and am fairly sure that the EWS is the issue. Its a 1995 with a silver label ECU. There are some crowds on ebay selling chips to remove the EWS but not sure if they are any use. Anyone in Ireland able to remove EWS from the ECU or have a Vanos ECU with no EWS they want to sell?
