Time is coming to replace the R53 as a daily driver and I'm considering a second insurance policy with limited mileage so I can keep it but wondering how anyone on here manages it before I go ringing around? Is it just a case of sucking up an additional policy with zero no-claims bonus or are there any specialist companies I should talk to?
Go with a broker is your best bet, let them do the searching for you. Or I think Axa actually allow no claims bonus mirroring.Quote:

That's how I'm currently driving my E39 (yes it's NCT'd & taxed) and I've a letter from FBD stating that the car being driven on the 3rd party extension doesn't have to be insured itself....
Assuming it's over 15 years old, your options are extremely limited otherwise as most leading insurance companies no longer are interested in 15yo+ cars.
BTW, NCB mirroring is not available via any of the 10+ insurers/brokers I had tried late last year.
You could try First Ireland.
They helped me setup a second policy for the M3 e93 with some years NCB attached (can’t remember the exact number of years). It was 11 years old when the policy started...
