E92 CIC retrofit

Hi all.

My 06 e92 came with CCC iDrive from the factory. The CCC unit failed recently so I decided I'd try a DIY CIC retrofit.
Bluetooth has never worked in the car, though it did come with the factory "preparation" for bluetooth. I think this is because the MULF is dead. It doesn't respond when I try to interrogate it using INPA.

So far I've got my hands on the following:

CIC unit with navigation from an F Series (unknown variant)
CIC package from an F25 X3 with basic CIC unit (no nav), screen and iDrive controller
Centre console trim for new iDrive controller. It's silver rather than the existing brushed aluminium but it will do for now.
Cable package including new connectors.
CIC Facia unit for the radio.
Ediabas K+Dcan OBD cable.

Still waiting on most of this stuff to be delivered so it'll be a while before I can get started.

Have any of you done this before? Any tips or advice? I haven't bought an emulator as I'm going to see if I can get around it with coding. I can always get that later if I'm stumped.
I'll also be getting the Combox at some point to replace the mulf and give me Bluetooth audio streaming. Current budget is blown so that will have to wait.
I think my biggest challenges will be transplanting the LCD from the F25 into my e92 screen housing and getting the coding right.
