Hey folks I changed my ccv system and after putting everything back together it is not running smoothly. I have stripped the manifold back off and couldn't find anything obviously amiss, if I disconnect the maf the car runs a lot better. I ran inpa on it and will post up some screen shots. Would appreciate any thoughts on what's gone wrong if possible please. Thanks, Nigel

Yeah I'd say you've an air leak somewhere alright, replace all the hoses inc the dipstick one?

Yep as far I can see I put everything back in the right place, replaced the o ring on the dipstick tube as it didn't feel like it was a tight fit but it still feels a bit loose although gar reckons his was loose aswell after refitting but didn't cause any problems. I replaced the upper rubber boot as it was damaged but other than that I'm stumped

Did the Maf get a knock by any chance while off the car? Same happened me before when everything was put back together, tried spare maf and it was all good...I foolishly had the other on the ground and must have given it a kick at some point [emoji15]

Could have to be honest. I had a 3 year old brat running around my ankles so anything is possible, I will try pick up a loan of one if possible and give it a try as it nearly runs perfect without the maf connected and I'm clutching at any straw I can find at this stage!

the oil dipstick tube will allways be kinda loose ,and moves free side to side,becouse its only on one round O ring ,but once its bolted to the mounting its all ok

Tried gars maf tonight and the rough idle problem is still there. Gar disconnected the disa and it improved it a lot but still not perfect. I will just have to keep digging, has anyone any idea if I could have done something to cause this when removing the fuel rail? I cleaned the injectors and am wondering if I did anything wrong in that area.

I noticed the tips of the injectors were dirty when I removed the fuel rail so I cleaned them with some brake cleaner, I probably lost an o ring in the process [emoji20] I will look for any leaks around the area and report back

So I checked around the top of the manifold and the injectors and could only find one small leak on the top ccv pipe so replaced the o ring on that and fixed the leak but rough idle still exists, I sprayed under the manifold and can hear a leak from the oil return pipe on the ccv I think so will examine that properly during the week when I'm replacing the throttle body gasket and lower rubber boot. Fingers crossed I find the culprit then

Don't know if I have a new problem or if this is the cause but I have found a leak in the fuel line right behind the manifold, i must have damaged it when moving the manifold, could this be the cause of the rough idling and is that hose easily replaced?

Think I need to leave this to the professionals [emoji17] replaced the fuel hose and rubber boots and throttle body gasket and checked every where for leaks and still no improvement unfortunately, doesn't throw up any errors when the maf is disconnected and runs nearly perfect

There are two similar looking outlets down further on the manifold that have blankers on them which I reckon are the ones your thinking of, I don't think these two ever had blankers although I can't say for certain

Managed to get this sorted, left it in with Valdas and he put everything back together properly and idling is back running perfect, had also started goin into limp mode occasionally and inpa was saying it was a throttle position sensor so Valdas sorted me with a replacement throttle body and it's flying again now thank God (Valdas) [emoji1]

Yep car was walkin a very fine line with me to be honest, delighted to have it back right, needs a bit of bodywork done before I'd be totally happy
