Has anybody bought a new BMW with ConnectedDrive recently? Did you have issues activating ConnectedDrive?

A friend got a new 4 Series Grand Coupe but ConnectedDrive just won't activate. The dealer cannot figure it out either?? But it is a rural dealer & may not have had many sales of that option.
