I have tracked down a power drain to fuse 20, the fan located behind the middle dash, It stay's running when the car is switched off. Is this normal? and if not what would cause it to stay powered up? it draws 15amps then drops to 9amps when disconected.
Any help would grateful

Sounds exactly like the e39/e46 issue with the FSU (final stage resistor pack) failure. I think the e34 has one as well.
