Grinding Noise from interior Fan

Hi all,

I have what I can only describe as a slight grinding noise from the fan (air con) in the cockpit of my F30. It goes away when I turn it off but is there at all low speed settings whether the A/C itself is on or not and it kind of increases with revs. I had something similar in my E92 which required a spray of lithium grease on a point that was visible and accessible from above in the engine bay.

Anyone else have this and solve it? I might try removing the cowling at the bottom of the windscreen and check to see if anything is visible.

Was the noise there prior to the engine failure? BMW might have disturbed something when removing the engine

Yeah it was always there. On another forum it says to remove the blower motor and clean it out as well as lubing it. Often times a leaf can get stuck in it but there was nothing like that in mine.

I removed it, cleaned it and lubed it and the noise is still there.
