E36 Cabrio Passenger Footwell Light Won’t Turn Off

When all doors are closed and car is locked, passenger footwell light stays on. Driver’s side turns off as normal. It doesn’t seem to be the passenger door striker as it lifts the window up as normal when closing the door. Any ideas? I’ve done a bit of searching online but can’t find an answer.

Will this connection still draw power if I remove the bulb or the light fitting itself?

Will get it to a mechanic in next few days but don’t want to drain the battery in the meantime.
