My e39 license plate light is not working. I don't have a dashboard warning light - is there normally one for this? (Just trying to narrow down to wiring vs bulb)

My e39 license plate light is not working. I don't have a dashboard warning light - is there normally one for this? (Just trying to narrow down to wiring vs bulb)
They warning can be related to to the rear tail light...or not. I doubt you have a blown bulb, it's more likely to be a snapped electrical wire inside the flexible rubber pipe that runs between the body and the bootlid.
