With the current weather I'm just curious if Castrol Edge 0W30 is any good for cold starts in freezing temperatures, and generally what makes an oil "good" for cold starts?

Well 0w flows more than 5w and that’s mostly it, so you get more flow and more protection when the cars cold and starts to warm up. Although I couldn’t see anyone needing to change from 5w30(if that’s what your using) to 0w30 just because of the few days in it.
