Insurance Predicament

Work collegue of mine has a bit of an insurance predicament at the moment and was hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light on it for him.

So he was in an accident a year ago and it is a total mess with loads of details still up in the air, wont go into details for his privacys sake. Anyway nothing is agreed between the insurance companies 1 year on.

Now he needs to change his insurance to a commercial policy, his current insurers (no nonsense) dont do commercial policies and no other insurance companies will touch him because he has an unagreed claim pending.

Is this correct and is he just boned or is there any way around this?

try getting 3 quotes (refusal letters required). and contact other insurance company which he is having dispute with.explain how he cannot get coverage. and request a quote as they have delayed the outstanding claim. had to do this myself long time ago.was all sorted once I had letters
