Not 100% but think it is basically
1 star = just getting start
5 star = regular poster and contributor
Could be wrong there Dean im sure one of the other Admins will know more they are the techies :D:D

I would say yeah post count bands per star, no makes no odds we love you all anyway :D:D

No the stars are just to differentiate different types of members - traders, moderators, regular members, etc
However, the title underneath that again will change for members the more you post

Click User CP, Longside the Log-Out... Go to edit profile on the left and then insert whatever in the Custom User Title box. :)
