    E60

    Hi all,

As much as I love my M4, I've reluctantly accepted it may not be the most appropriate daily driver now that I'm spending more time back in the office with a motorway commute a few times a week.

Therefore I'm on the lookout for an E60, preferably a 520d (as fuel economy is the priority) in M Sport trim. Not too bothered whether it's pre-LCI or LCI.

Let me know if you know of anything for sale, or if there's anything I should be looking out for.

By the way, does anyone know the name of colour of this one is (looks a bit like Interlagos Blue but I think it's slightly different)? https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sal...-auto/29132772

    Thanks

The Imola red E60 is gone, went within a few hours of being on Dungdeal. Down to just one now

Still on the hunt! Decent cars seem to be hard to come by on the likes of DoneDeal, and any that do appear seem to get snapped up quickly.

Anyone have or know of anything for sale?

My only criteria (slightly changed since the original post) are:

    1. Diesel
    2. M Sport
    3. Black
    4. Post- July 2008
    5. Timing chain sorted
    6. Preferably with a set of Style 172s and a black interior, but would live with something else if all other boxes were ticked

I’d seen that one, looks nice alright! I’m a bit agnostic about manual vs auto but I suppose if the car is mainly for commuting an auto would make more sense.

Would a relatively low mile original Irish E90 M Sport fit the bill either ? No mention of chain being done, so assume not of course......

Potentially, although the price would need to make sense relative to what I could get an E60 for. I’ve owned an E9X before and I find the E60 is definitely a step up in terms of comfort, plus I sort of prefer how the E60 looks. That one does look nice though.

I haven't looked at diesels in ages, so out of interest I thought I'd work out what it might look like to import something from the UK (in this case a 535d as there are virtually none here).

Based on the cheapest post-2008 one I can find on AT in the colour that I want (here: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...us=1500&page=1 ), my calculations are as follows:

Purchase price (in Euro at today's exchange rate): €8,065.23
VRT: €6,436 (NOx charge is €3,550)
    VAT @ 23%: €1,855*
    Customs Duty @ 10%: €806.50*
*I assume the VAT and Customs Duty are calculated on the purchase price before VRT?
    Total: €17,162.73

Is this right? A circa £7k car costs €17k to bring into Ireland?
