Hi all,
I’m on the lookout for an E60. I’m specifically looking for one in Black but pretty much everything I can see for sale seems to be Carbon Black which I’m not a big fan of. Is it rare enough to find these cars in Black Sapphire Metallic / Jet Black? I’ve definitely seen them in that colour, but just can’t find any for sale.

To me that looks like Carbon Black. However I could well be wrong. It’s difficult to tell from photos sometimes depending on the lighting.

I’ve seen a few SEs in that colour alright. I wonder why it’s not as common on M Sports. In fact I recall seeing a few M Sports in that colour for sale over the last while but they were all pre-LCI, never seen an LCI M Sport with it.
Maybe I’ll settle for Carbon Black and it will grow on me in person.
I think they look really well in Silver Grey and Interlagos Blue too!

Agreed. I’d equally go for one in Interlagos Blue. Problem is there seems to be a lot of E60s in shades of blue that are similar but slightly different to it, and it’s hard to tell from photos what shade of blue it actually is!

Platinum grey would be a firm favourite of mine but I would say that
Having had a carbon black, sapphire black, imola red 2 and now the platinum grey E60s I’d say it’d be a tough choice between the carbon black and the grey one.
I never got the carbon black e60 properly detailed but having seen Tonys E46 cb detailed by the lads in detailing shed years ago I must say it was one of the best colours I’d ever seen.

It’s a 09 520d business edition with around 80mls. It’s a nice combo with the black carpet and cream beige leather.
