    New bulbs will help if they're replacing very old ones but if the light is really bad they may not be the only culprit.

    Regarding the headlight covers, polishing shouldn't increase light output really unless they are going a bit opaque. Clearer covers would reduce light scattering though and might sharpen up the beam profile.

    Fitted them when I bought the car in November 2019, don’t recall the lights ever being good.
