Has anyone tried to book a test recently? I had a reminder email today to book a test for the e63. As far as I can see, the earliest date at any test centre within 100 miles of here, or anywhere along the western seaboard is early May, and quite a few have nothing until June.
Are they on a go-slow, or what?

No idea why the delays are so bad but the usual call em and tell them you want a date within 4 weeks and you’ll get put on their list and a text within a week giving you a date and time.

Yeah I planned on ncting the E46 when I take it out of storage in April earliest I could get was 25th of may.

Yes I have. What seems to be happening is that near dates are being held back and then released as a block.
What I do is take whatever date is available (say June) and then log in during the day to check if there’s any cancellations or if a batch of times in the next week or so are released.
For example on Monday night a load of slots were released for tomorrow in Northpoint, Fonthill and Deansgrange.
I've been trying this for the passed few days but no joy. I heard Wed is the best day to check from someone else, so will try tomorrow.Originally Posted by JohnH

A trader I know on Monday night got 6 appointments for tomorrow and one for Thursday. It’s just pot luck.
Just a second ago I moved an appointment to Friday at 2pm in Fonthill.
Late at night or 7am seem to be good from what I can see.

I booked my test in Kilkenny six weeks in advance, they cancelled on me four days before the test date and said reschedule the test. Next available test in Kilkenny is the 10th of June

Just an update on this so it might help people. I managed to get the car tested today using John's trick, I checked ncts.ie at 6am on Monday morning and saw a slot pop up. Thanks!

Have been trying to get a slot for three weeks for two of the cars. Booked one in for July - kept checking back - the dates being offered for a rescheduled tests were identical to the ones on offer for the car without the booking.
Went on yesterday and a heap of dates for April had been released, so got them both booked in.
