RADIO REPAIR SPECIALIST NEEDED FOR E38

Hey there, I am having trouble with the system on my E38 728i. The sound from whatever source I am using (tape, cd or radio) will intermittently cut out sometimes for a few minutes sometimes for hours or even days.

Having studied the various E38 forums it seems to be a problem with the amp but I am not 100% sure. I've dropped it to one specialist I have dealt with in the past who recommend stripping out the entire system and starting with something new but I am hoping to keep it OEM as much as possible and hopefully just rectify the issue.

Does anyone have experience with this problem or know any place that might be able to diagnose and repair it?

I'd be happy to replace the amp if I knew how but am concerned if I go messing around I might make things worse.

    Any help is appreciated.

    How does non existent sound?

This looks like something anyone who is handy with circuit boards and a soldering Iron could do though. Do you have any experience of doing it yourself?
