That’s interesting. The UK coppers would have had a serious amount of BMWs over the years.

What’s most interesting is the fact that Park Lane made less than 0.001% profit….

'BMW’s role as a national supplier of police cars to forces across the UK has ended following the identification of faults with its N57 diesel engine associated to the high mileage and long periods of engine idling followed by sharp acceleration which were confined to police vehicles'

Are they trying to imply that N47 diesel engine issues were confined to just police cars here FFS ???

I think in fairness they acknowledged there were more problems when used in police cars.

The unique use case presented by a combination of high mileage, running at idle for very long periods of time immediately followed by hard acceleration and high speed driving (ie watching and then chasing baddies) meant they were unsafe and was the cause of a PC being killed in an accident.
