Haha, been trying to keep it quiet Dermot 11-reg Golf, all 1.2L of it too I am now Mr. MPG Low-Tax!

Was 1998 when I last bought a non-BMW, and that was a VAG too

Thanks Dave. Thought it was a 4-cyl, but could be wrong, must check it out. It's the 105bhp model, but there's also an 85 one, so maybe that's the 3-cyl?

It's actually not too bad once you keep the revs up a bit, and I do quite like the Mk6 Golf having driven a few of them. Not doing the mileage to warrant diesel, so said I'd give this a go for a while on the daily commute around the M50

In mixing up my engines,1.2t, 4 cylinder. you'll appreciate you're real cars all the more now when time comes to use them.

Plus it's as fast as any //M-car! (when stuck in the traffic )

And that's kind of the point. I was as happy as when I could just use public transport to get around, but now that I need a daily driver, I just wanted something cheap and easy to run. Motorways are fecking boring places to drive on usually anyway, so the Golf should be ideal for what I want
