E46 Coupe Rear Bulb Out Error

Strange one, but probably a common fault? It's on an E46 pre face lift
coupe, so I'm not that familiar.

Had eagle eye aftermarket LED rears fitted, all of a sudden started throwing
errors for both rear lights on the dash.

Changed back to oem rear lights, and the error lights are still on. I was
sure fitting the oem lights woukd solve it.

Have checked the earth wire on the harnesses and they look fine.

Any ideas what could be up that would throw the error?

Did you check the number plate lights? When blown they show as a tail light fault on the dash on my car which is pre-facelift.

If its not the light bulbs the wire in the boot trunk is known for breaking.

Turns out both reg plate bulbs aren't working. Presume it's just the bulbs, will change them
out and see if that fixes it!

Both gone at the same time? sounds too much of a coincidence maybe theres more to it then that Donal?

Yeah sounds dodgy. Haven't seen the car since I changed out the lights
so going on what I've been told.

Would it be a fuse if not the bulbs?

Possibly, I remember having this issue on the e39 and it was the bulb holder itself! Conor sorted it for me in few seconds
