    Recommend a car!

Landed myself with a task to find someone a car!!
The sister-in-law is expecting their 3rd and they need to change their car to fit them all in; the 1er isnt big enough!

    What they need to fit....
1: ISOFIX for brand new baby

    2: Booster seat for a 3yr old

    3: Booster seat/pad for a 6 year

She liked the idea of an E46, but judging by how far over the ISOFIX is in our E46, it doesnt leave much room for the other two seats. She said an Audi A4 wont fit them either? Not sure how she came to that conclusion!

Anyone (un)fortunate :P enough to have experience of their situation? What was the solution? Or anyone got any ideas!!

    Budget: 8-8.5k
She was thinking of a VW Pissrat, but he is refusing.
Octavia is out of the question and the Insignia is looking to be slightly out of budget.
Will they squeeze into an E90?
No greater than a 2 litre
No mini buses / 7 seaters...something to fit everything in, but that still is a bit stylish!

    See my struggle!

    Thanks in advance!

The e91 won't fit 3 across the back either. My sister has a passat and it fits 3 seats. An A6 avant or 5-series touring would also work. Not a lot out there when you go looking! Good luck.

An e90 would not be big enough anyway.

I've heard reports that Octavia's are deceptively big inside, but it's on your 'no' list.

What about a 'cross-over', a jeep thats notreally a jeep. Nissan Qashqai+2 for example?

Otherwise, as mentioned you are looking at estates.

E90 and a4 are no good for 3 seats

A6 or x5 should be worth a look

Scratch the x5 just seen it must be 2.0

She's not overly keen on cross-overs nor tourings!

Anyone know if the IS220d or the Mazda 6 would squeeze them in?

Is220 is over a 2.0 dave and similar size to the 3 series , I wouldn't even put 3 seats in the 5 series its just not big enough

Mazda 6 is a good car but again not much bigger then the 3 series , you can get the a6 in saloon is well doesn't have to be an estate

    RE: Recommend a car!

I know the IS220d is over 2 litre....she had kinda of said no more than 2 litre, but if I managed to find an 2008 one in budget, rare I know, I reckon she'd be OK as it would be emissions based. Thing is any of the 08 cars that are potential runners are slightly out of budget, for that reason!

So basically its a Passat, or suck it up and go for the soccer mom look!

They'll probably got for a 1.6 petrol to keep the tax down, as you wont get an 08 A6 and the tax will be more than they are paying now!!

And, Ive been through the pro's and con's of petrol v diesel and pre 08 v post 08!
