Tyre size on staggered wheels

I've a set of staggered wheels 17" X 7 and 17" X 7.5 if I put a set of tyres the same size on all four will it affect the handling or throw up DSC lights at me?

Not at all, you'll be grand! I had 205 and 225 on 7.5 j wheels all round and the car handled best with them! I'd say the recommended size for those size wheels would be 205 front and 225 rears. But I'd say no thinner than 195 on the front and no wider than 225 on the back will be fine.
