Door won't open!

Hi all

Bit of a problem with one of the E39's, the rear right door doesn't open from the inside or out. Button goes up and down. I think the child lock is on but the outside handle refusing to open the door has baffled me....

Anyone have a solution to open the door?

I had the same a few weeks ago unscrew and pull off the doorcard then get a flathead and a can of wd40 and fiddle around with the mechanism eventually it will open

Mine was the exact same door ,same car and same symptoms

What happens to the handle, does it just wear away at the back?

Its very hard to tell as you cant really see the mechanism both my handles inside and out moved but none would open the door

I'll start by opening the door first so

Theres only screw you need to remove its inside the inside door handle them remove the lower bench on the rear seat it just pulls up then just brute force to pull the doorcard off

I've noticed this on my car too same door as well. It still works but i hear it clicking after the rest of them have open or closed. I know how how to tackle it now, cheers Gar.
