Upgrade from reflector lenses to OEM Xenons

Hey guys! Thanks for all the help with my last thread! Looks like I'm on the right forum!

Here's my next challenge for ya!

Currently looking to upgrade to projector lenses for the e46 325ci from the OEM reflectors. There are a couple of ideas that I have but only one I want the answer to!

Idea 1 - buy after market headlamps from bimmian.com and use a HID kit. Easy! Downside, finding somewhere to mount the ballast and haven't had much luck with aftermarket headlights in previous cars. Would be me last resort!

Idea 2 - Buy OEM Xenons (I know a guy! lol) and install them.

HOWEVER! I've been told that I need to re-flash the ECU and possibly change the multi plug. Not a huge problem but need to confirm this is correct. Also what else do I need to get the xenons working? Do I need the Light Control Model or does the car currently have one that will support the upgrade? Will the headlamps fit the car? ( that may be a stupid question!)

I'd appreciate any input! Thanks guys!

RE: Upgrade from reflector lenses to OEM Xenons

    thread moved to lighting section...

Have a look at The Retrofit Source, They do a retrofit projector unit called the Morimoto Mini and it comes in two flavours, H1 and D2S afaik.
you can then add a HID kit and achive the same results as OEM xenon with half the cost.
If you get an Error free HID kit you wont need to flash the LCM.

google 'E46 Projector retrofit' for inspiration.
