Thought I'd throw up this thread to see what peoples gripes about for sale ads on done deal and the like, might actually help someone creating a for sale ad as well!
The biggest one I think everyone has is people using the word "MINT"!!
My ones are "it will fly through the test" or "not pushed in selling", if it will fly through the test then just get the thing tested and if you're not push in selling why the f did you place a for sale ad!

On carzone when a garage has no information on the car and a long speel about the history fo the garage.
When they fill up the descripion with useless info like.
Power steering.
Body coloured bumpers.
electric windows.
Cd player.
Airbags.
Im pretty sure 90% of cars come standard with all of that now. Were not in the 80s anymore
Or when they have a long speel about the history of the garage FULL of really bad spelling mistakes. Doesn't say much about the garage in my opinion...

The issue here is the fact that there is us ie "car people" and them "your standard issue eejit" in regard to public sites like donedeal. We want clear honest information, they want to sell the car. Are not aware of, do not care or are hoping issues and little white lies go unnoticed.
This can work to the enthusiasts benefit some times but more often against as that 316i really is an M3 no matter what you say to them and the "I" refers to the interplanetary warp drive installed by their mate last week....
Personally, I'm used to buying things in general that are clearly labelled and priced as society dictates via advertising so a lot of the frustration with car sales ads comes from unclear information and pricing.
I'd want :
Honesty (lol)
Spec
Work done
Work needing to be done
Price
No bullshit.
When they are missing it grinds my gears....
No photos. Usually one or two taken outside. No interior photos. You don't even know what spec car has.

Speaking of price, have ye ever gone to look at a car and ask how much they're looking for it, to get the response: "make an offer and I'll see" or "what's it worth to you". I dont understand why people can't give a straight up response to someone who is interested in purchasing their car!
Oh speaking of selling cars, one thing that really gets me is "whats your best cash price"!! I dont even get that when it comes to private sales!
