    Thank you for your reply. Just to be sure does this mean the balance bars do not move when you pull out the crankshaft hub, and you can slide the crank hub back in after replacing the timing chain. It will save me a lot of time and grief if I do not have to take of the sump to replace the timing chain.

    I would always take the sump off - to ensure the balance shafts are in the correct position and also to thoroughly wash the sump out and get all traces of broken tensioner plastic out. It's an extra 2 hours of work.
