    6cyl help

So instead of 1questioni have loads so bare with me.

I remember reading that a 523I, m52, ecu will run a 528 engine. Does this apply with the m54 as well and could you use an m52 ecu on an m54? The reason I'm asking is I'm told an m54 transplant is a Mission. Any help lads?

i wouldn't use the 523 ecu with the 2.8 cos firstly the 2.8 has bigger injectors and im sure the ecu would run it different to the 2.8, i was told when remapping my 2.5 ecu that i could use a 2.8 but it had to be mapped to sort out the changes. i may be wrong but im just relaying the info i was given

I hear you but my thinking is the injectors open as they would in a 523 and all else works the same also but I don't want to risk it if it's not right. Anyone else or does anyone know the differences between the m52 and m54s? That may even help.

    RE: 6cyl help

Thanks. Ive been told its a lot of work to transplant this engine into a non Double Vanos engine'd car as a lot of electrical parts need to be swapped from different areas in the car, can anyone tell me about this?
