Got a renewal quote with An Post for the M3 last week. Actually went down on what I paid last year by about €70. When I phoned them up asking them to do better they brought it down from €830 to €800 but when I told them about my 3 points it flew up to €920. I told them it was totally ridiculous to increase by that much and with some wrangling got him back to €840. Not terrible I guess.

36 full NCB 3 points and parked in Dublin 16.
    Current: '03 E46 Individual M3 Cabrio, ‘00 E38 740i Sport.

    Previous: '05 E46 Individual 320Cd Coupe, '01 E38 Individual 728i, '98 E36/7 Z3 1.9, '98 E36 323i Sport Coupe, '97 E36 318i Cabrio, '05 E53 X5 3.0i Sport, 2010 E89 Z4 S-Drive 23i and '01 E36/7 Z3 2.2i Sport

I don't know how ye are doing it
mines Eur1000 on a 2ltr gttdi 32 and 14 years ncb and no points ,axa didn't charge me anything for changing over to the 330d seeing as I was in the last 2 months of the policy and ive been with them for years
god knows what number they will pull out of the sky for the renewal in November

I still think 800 is too much! I was paying a lot less when I had the M3 insured!

My insurance up for renewal next month been getting a couple of quote. I'm 25 driving a 2008 130i msport, 2 years no claims and 4 years named driving experience with full licence 7 years. I have my gf named on the policy to bring it down a little. Best quote was €1050 fully comp with axa, then highest I got was 2k with allianz. There was a couple of quotes around €1300 and several declined quotes. Think I'll be going with Axa

insurance renewal came in at €950 for the M135i with Allianz through Arachas, rang them up and they best they could drop it was to €830. I've gone with An Post for €501 and I've dropped the open drive, I never needed it really.

33 with 10 years NCB and no points.

That's a great quote, Post Insurance have been pretty brutal on my renewal but I've moved away from BMW for a while which is probably why!

AIG tells me that 6 years NCB is the max bonus and that’s all they’ll be able to give me even though I have more. Is this BS or was anybody else told something similar from their insurance company?

Edit: that means 6 years is all they’ll say I have come renewal if I go to another company too

You will still get credit for the additional years on the NCB cert but what they mean is that 60% discount is the most they will apply to the policy
