Any CCTV/ Internet Whizz's out there?

I bought a set of Swann IP cameras with DVR as there have been a load of break ins around my area lately and I'm gone most of the day

All set up nicely bar the smartphone viewing feature. I can view the cameras fine on my iphone via the app when I am connected to the network, but offsite wifi & 3G doesn't work. I believe it's to do with setting port forwarding on the router to allow access to the app? It's a Vodafone netopia standard router that I have

I've found my ip and entered as instructed but still nowt [POUTING FACE]

First thing the broadband connected to your CCTV does it have a static ip of dynamic one, also did you forward the ports you router for you DVR ?

Moses that's where I'm no use, you lost me at static! Any way of dumbing it down for me?

you will have to get on to eircom or whoever your phone provider is and ask for a static ip address. costs about 50 euro

I've looked up using dyndns for this and have it setup now, still can't view from the app, anyone good enough to talk me through setup? I set up the dynamic Dns on my router and all so far

Dyndns is good first step, next you’ll need to enable UPnP on your router.
