Low end grunt VS Top end power / Power Delivery Preference

I was trying to drive an X1 diesel fast the other day, my god I hate the turbo lag and all the gear changing and then anything over 3krpm felt like no power and that the engine was about to break.

I love the low end torque, being burried into the seat and the massive pull. Top end is ok but I love the power delivery from low revs on through.

Does anyone know to what extent you can control the power delivery with a remap? Is there a limit or can you shift the power band around at will? This is purely out of curiosity.

In an ideal world you'd want torque and top end to be near enough 50/50.

Absolutely hate turbo diesels, bags of torque but when you want it to keep going you run out of revs.

A well sorted n/a screamer will always put a smile on your face, having to keep it high up in the revs to stay in the power band. Not great for everyday driving though.

tbh the best car I've ever daily driven was my ls1 ute in australia. best of both worlds,loads of torque and still revved to 6800 odd.
