e39 armrest help

have a black leather armrest with phone,the one that slides and my car has the normal open up one.can I put the sliding one on without too much hassle,not bothered about the storage compartment.hopeing to try it tomorrow if time allows.not bothered about wireing the phone.

It's dead easy, remove the little holder under the vents in the back, slide the vents down, there are two 10mm nuts you need to release and the entire thing lifts off.
