wel after having a shit morning my eml and traction control light came on together, car dipped a little on power so I pulled over and switched car off for few mins.started it and lights out, drove another 20 miles and they are back on.turning car off seems to reset it but it runs with the lights on as well.anyone any ideas.googled it and lots of theorys but nothing concrete.some say throttle body needs to be replaced, some say battery etc, etc.anyone here have it and found a fix

I would say it's your abs module. You might want a second opinion, DaveG is breaking a 520i with the correct module

think the abs module was replaced over a year ago with previous owner.not sure either way.
would it show up as faulty on diagnostic machine.

A long shot but worth tryin.
Check your earth strap coming off the battery.
These can get loose sometimes if battery mounting points were removed and left off.
Or a smaller battery put in.

    Other than that.

Might be the abs hall sensor on right or left rear wheels.
    Can't remember which side.
Used to happen to me on a '98 E39 I had.
I would cycle on an off the key,(while moving). Problem solved for a while.
Never did fix it. Car got sold on eventually. Owner was aware of the gremlin.
Be no harm to plug it in James.
