My girlfriends brother had on 03 or 04 one, commercial, and had a fair bit of trouble keeping tyres on it, plus he had problems with the door locks and air-suspension. Think they're very hard on fuel too.

He had to replace some central locking control and get new keys I think, as whatever the problem was he had to unlock the back door, open it, reach in around to try open the drivers door. Think it was a common enough fault. The air-suspension / compressor is renowned for causing problems too.

They're getting seriously cheap now.

I like them, but have heard nothing but horror stories about them from anyone who has owned one.

Well I know someone who had one from new and I'm afraid I can't speak positively either. He loved the car but was always having problems including engine shitting itself. Air suspension not working. And other problems with the new engine. He gave up and bought a 405. Worth a punt at 3.5K a lot of car for the money imo. But if it was just problems all the time you'd have to ask if it's really worth it?

Could easily part with the asking price again if something goes wrong.

I'd stay clear of them. Great to drive until the brake. Then they're terrible

My old boss had one and it was a bleedin hen house!
He spent a fortune on it and tryin to keep it on the road, he got an x5 and never looked back...

Have only heard horror stories too but you know yourself, you can get lucky. Id avoid that one, looks like its been sideways too much
