change taxi to private vehicle

need a transit van with windows so looking at taxi/hackney vans.whats the story if I buy one,can I insure it like a private car or do I have to get it changed with revenue or something.found a nice one locally,its a 14 seater transit,i don't need the seats just room for a wheelchair.anyone know what needs to be done if anything

Nope, just buy it. Ensure the previous owner removes his meter, printer and PSV stickers etc
Then, technically, you have to go the tax office and tax it privately. Most people wait until the current PSV tax disc expires though.
