    Found an excellent pdf on diffs for 3 series but cant figure out how to attach a pdf so google the name on the top of the picture it should lead you to it

    Here's a handy gear calculator that may suit this thread http://www.endtuning.com/gearratios.html

    It doesn't cover all BMW's but may be of use to some, for example you can load your car and change the diff ratio to one you may be considering fitting and see what changes will appear like what rpm's will show at motorway speeds in top gear etc
