Dilemma- Car change or not

So a bit of a dilemma, as I'm over here in the UK with the car still on Irish plates and Irish Europe insurance until I start onsite at start of sept. I have 2 options;

1; keep car and put on eng plates.
Get vrt refund : €1000
But UK plates are I think ~£200 conformity check, ~£50 mot, ~£50 for plates and ~£250 for tax so pretty much wipes out the vrt refund but a lot of hassle.

2; sell car, brother might take it off me for cheap, his car gets passed to uncle as a spare car then buy a car over here cheaply and bigger engine

So any opinions?

Option 2, your will stay in the family and I'm sure you could buy it back if it becomes necessary to.

Option 2 and throw a v8 on top you only live once and nows the time to do it

Decision has been made for me, moving to London In 4 weeks, car going back home, going to be weird not driving for the next 6 months
