    E Numbers

    So I've wondered about this for a while. Does anyone know what the story is with bmw model names.

    For example, e30, e31, e32, e34 and e36 are all well known. But what became of poor old e33 and e35? I can't believe they were just skipped.

    Probable design numbers, of which only certain designs made it to the production stage. However the F numbers seem a bit whacky..

    E Numbers

    The E numbers include prototypes and experimental vehicles. In the early years there were three digit E numbers and then changed to start at E1, funny this was skipped and not used until '91.
