I have spent the last hour searching the interweb on info on how much and what type.

I have gathered that I will need 7-9L of aft, correct?
Also what is a good all round brand to go with price/ performance.


"REAL LIFE" info greatly appreciated.

As a general rule OEM BMW fluid for them or ZF Lifeguard6
Do not go into a factors and get 'ATF'
It will f*** the box
Depending where you're based it may be cheaper to get a pro to do it

Obviously Iam not going to put standard atf into it. I just used atf short for auto trans fluid.

And iam well capable of changing the oil and filter. Iam just looking for info on a recommended brand and grade other than bmw oil.

What's going on here?

It appears if you go against official BMW then there is a problem.
What BMW dealer is on the forum? Oh ya, the one I issued a FOI request against a couple of years ago. I used to be BMWCARE then but after they spent approx €2m they closed me down.
