Replacement E53 X5 Xenon bulb

Alright folks,

Last night, one of the factory xenon lights (drivers side) went all reddish on me. As it's remained like this, I enquired about a replacement unit from BMW today. The price quoted was near €200?

Can someone please she'd some light, excuse the pun, on this? Is it regular for these bulbs to fail? Also, what are my options for replacement bulbs, apart from BMW oem?

Pity, they were replacing them for free a few months ago!

Best bet is to replace both now, as they burn at different temps and will be different colours if you only change one.

Find out if you need DS2 or D2S or similar bulbs and buy a set online for half that price.

i got them here to replace the xenon bulbs on my 6 series and they were perfect , for a fraction of the cost , as said replace them in pairs
