    Detailing Process...

    Evening chaps.

As some of you saw from the pics a few weeks ago I popped the auld detailing cherry with a mate of mine and broke out the rotary and gave the e34 land yacht and his Celica some love. But I'm not 100% impressed to the level I expected.

Swirl removal/paint clarity I'm reasonably happy with, might go for a tougher pad with the v36 next time, or maybe a dash of v34.

Where I'm not happy is the beading/ease of cleaning. I used Dodo Juice, applied by hand for the last two years, going as long as 8months between coats and was extremely happy with the beads. Sexy beads.

I'm not beating the products at all, they were great, I believe it's purely an error in my work and would appreciate some help/advice!

    Process we used on the e34 was;
    Power Wash Rinse
    2BM
    Rinse
    Iron Cleanse
    Rince
    Clay
    Rinse
    Dried by MF cloths
V36 with a yellow Hex Logic pad
V38 with a black Hec Logic pad
2 coats of Jetseal with 40ish mins between coats

Also I work in Sandymount, so the car does get a layer if sand blown over her on a daily basis, which when wet leaves sandy water spots Can anybody advice on protecting/fighting against that?

    Cheers!

Did you wash the car down with a strong APC after completing the polishing to remove the polishing oils?
If not, the Dodo Juice may not hard cured too well and giving poor results!

There is nothing that can be done about the water spots....20 quid tub of wax or 200 quid of nano sealant, the water spotting will be the same.....car cover is the answer!

Aha! We have a winner! Never APC'd after polishing, would that affect the beadyness? Didn't use Dodo Juice this time, ran out a few months back, just Jetsealed after polishing
