Hi folks, a family member is looking for a car, all those years of burning his ears off about BMWs must've paid off as much to my surprise he asked me if I knew of any diesel 5 series going.
The requirements:
Diesel - 525 or up to avoid timing chain issues
08 up - for co2 tax
As low a mileage as he can get, but definitely has to be low mileage
Sport model
He will spend up to 15k - now I know nothing about e60 pricesis that realistic or is it eh ...a bit ambitious?
Have been looking for the exact same thing really for similar money..low miles is a must.
The more I look around, the better an 08 Jag XF 2.7 diesel looks
The xf is a stunning looking machine id love a petrol one but if you look on the uk forums you will find plenty of guys who left bmw to move to the xf and ended up coming back to the 5 series , its a fine looking car but just not in the same league
Your going to have trouble finding one here 98% of late e60's are 2.0 diesels
Although i did come across this its the only one but slightly over budget
Probably uk and bring home a 530d would be the best bet

Be prepared to sift through an awful lot of E60 crap for sale - petrol & diesel. I've given up on finding one for herself, and I looked high and low for over a month. I'm afraid that its become a model that has fallen into the wrong hands, with very poor maintainence/history. An 08 low miler diesel sport (which Ireland and it's granny wants) are over priced. If I was to go looking again, I'd be waiting on a known 'forum' model to get advertised to save the time wasted / head wrecking searching.

That's right I remember seeing Valdas' threads on it..
Feck it I'll tell him to buy an A6 instead... That's what he wanted to buy anyway
