    Speed sensor

    How do I find out which speed sensor is faulty.ive a cheap scanner and when I clear the fault its fine for a fee mins.speedo doesn't show speed when drivinfg and abs light is on.when I clear fault abs light goes out and speedo works.cant remember the fault code as its not my everyday e39 .its a 01e39 se ,2.2 manual

    AFAIK both sensors are the same, So maybe get a new sensor and try it on 1 side and see if not swap it over?

    Could also be the ABS/ASC ECU which are very common in E39s.

    I bought the cheap inpa software for a laptop. It shows the reading from each sensor so I just moved the car and could see my front left was gone.
