I have a few questions about the swap, I have a manual 00 320d and i have bought a crash damaged 2002 330d auto.
My questions are, will the 320d gearbox fit the 330d?
Will my 320d flywheel fit?
I know the clutches on the 320d are 220mm-228mm and on the 330d 240mm,
I have looked for information online but cannot seem to find any,
and if anybody has a good link to a swap thread.

Pretty sure the 4 and 6 cylinder bell housings are different, don't think the 320d flywheel will fit either, realoem would verify it quick enough, I'm sure the likes of Valdas, narusa or HealyC could tell you very quickly.Originally Posted by E46Padge

Gearbox and flywheel will fit straight on.But with smaller clutch you will struggle with 3.0 nm's
lovey. so its the same theory as the 4 and 6pot petrol engine. i know myself the 220mm clutch will be no good, ill have to get a clutch kit,
