Go pro differences

Ok this will be used for the car and the plane say so sorry if it's in the wrong section but people here surly have these. It's an Xmas present so I want to know what is the difference between the two below cameras ? I'll prob get a 3 but this new pup is a massive amount cheaper. Any reason why ?

The Wifi mainly, being able to control the camera from an app or a remote makes a world of difference. The app is the business though, switching between photos and videos and turning it on and off when not in use so you don't waste battery or sd card space etc

Is that all with a 200e difference though, smaller capability to save or battery life etc, not as robust or that
