    Drivers door lock stuck/faulty, door won't open, how to fix?

    Hi all,
    I drive a E46 318i and today, without thinking of how the lock actually works I replaced my broken drivers door lock with a lock for left hand driven cars.

    Needless to say, if I lock my doors with the key, I can not open them.
    The only way for me now to open the doors, is to crawl in to the car, put the key in the ignition and then use the button on the mid console to unlock the doors.
    This will unlock all the doors, except for the drivers door as the barrel will not allow it to turn, since I put in the wrong lock in the door...

    Since I can't open the door, I can't get the lock out either..
    Anyone have any advice on how I can get the door open to remove the lock?
    I tried to pull the "pin" that goes up and down when you lock the door, but it is totally impossible to force open...

    This is the situation I am in now;

    RE: Drivers door lock stuck/faulty, door won't open, how to fix?

    Update: After starting to become more and more desperate, not wanting to pay to get it fixed, I tried to with force turning the key longer than it would allow me to - in an attempt to break the lock again.
    While doing this, the door unlocked.
    The key didn't turn enough to be able to pull it out after unlocking, but I was able to open the door to remove the lock.
    In an hour or so I will be getting my new lock, this time for right hand drive cars...
