    BIG touring detail....PIC HEAVY

This took over 3 hours to write up

    This might take a while…

Basically the car has been sitting for between 2-3 years outside unprotected. It was a previous rep car so you can imagine the lack of wax/sealant on the paint when it was parked up and also the previous wash routine!!

    THE JOB:

    Correction of paint
    Wheel refurb at Wheel Wizards
    New tyres along with refurb
    Interior
    Engine bay
    Arches
    Debadge rear

Time: 40-45 hours over a couple of weeks between some mechanical work by HealyC

    So onto the before:

Big thing here was to get rid of as much dirt BEFORE touching the car with wash mitts. This will eliminate any future correction needed, as you will see with the right products YEARS of ingrained dirt is washed away.

PRECLEAN used was Citrus Pre Clean (fantastic product)

    DURING:

    50/50 ONLY RINSED NOT TOUCHING:

Below is after the pre clean has been used I HAVE NOT TOUCHED THE CAR YET

Car was then wash using 2 bucket method and then Iron Cleanse applied rinsed off to examine and it needed a 2nd coat there was still a lot of iron build up on side skirts and rear of the car.

Car was then detarred using Tar Cleanse, didn’t get many photos but it had the usual amount of tar for a given car of age and miles.

Fully clayed, prep time was about 7 hours, normally 3-4

Iron Cleanse on wheels to show how good it really is:

Badge was removed prior to polishing as-well

Arches next, i originally cleaned them down out side 3 times when doing the prep work, also on the 2nd day i took out 2 trolley jacks and axle stands and degreased and scrubbed as much of the heavy stuff off as possible, the car went up on the lift inside all wheels off and got more cleaning before the arch liners were taken off, this is where most of the damp mud gets clogged up causing rusty arches over time!

Fronts next, been plastic they hold more tar then the rears tend to hold muck and mud. Serious build up of tar over its life so cleaned and degreased both outside and then again when car was taken inside so next was some Tar Cleanse

Not 100% just yet but getting there

This is a very tight spot to get to:

Exhaust polish next, fair bit of tar to remove first

Not 100% due to some pitting in the metal, but so much better then before

    Dressed with 303:

Wheels after refurb, tyres dressed when back on the car

Some beading from LSP Collinite 476s

Seat were involved in some forensic work hence the rips but are been replaced soon

Lovely fresh matt finish on all interior plastics
