A big coincidence, funny how small the world is. There is a specialist car dealer on Switzerland whom I have been talking to through Instagram. I knew before that he owned by Red Alpina B7 before me and then owned my Alpina E21 after me. Mad.

Now he has an individual Estoril E46 320ci Cabrio like mine. Mad again.

I used to dream about owning an e60 m5 since the first one was around my area. Now a picture of this is going on the bedroom wall to dream about for the next 10 years. Such an epic car in every way possible

Nooooooooo.......Just watched the Goodwood festival of speed and someone just binned an Alpina B8 gran coupe. Ploughed on in to the haybales and destroyed front end.

Legendary car dealer Dermot Wallace passed away. There is at least one car on here that passed through his hands. Spent many an occasion glaring in the window of the showroom and loitering. He had some outstanding cars when you didn’t see exotic Lambos and Ferraris around Dublin.

Thanks Andy. I spent many occasions with my nose stuck to the glass of that showroom over the years (and Chris Fleming, when he was just up the street).

My 328i spent a while with him and a couple of years ago I called in on the off-chance that he might be able to shed some light on the story of the car. He turned out to be most entertaining and helpful. He dug out some dusty ledgers and was able to fill in some details for me, and all the while we nattered about this and some other cars and people he'd encountered over the years.

Pity to see a lot of these quirky old garages and dealers disappear.
