Style vs Substance

Just curious what peoples opinions are on this.

If you had to pick one would it be style or substance?

Style being amazing body work, interior etc etc

Where as substance would be say a bigger engine or better road handling etc etc

Ideally I know we'd all like both.....

But say for arguments sake you could buy one of two cars.

One has perfect big lump loads of power but crap body work or similar

The second is truely mint looks wise but has a feeble low powered engine or a dodgy big one or some other significant mechanical problem

Which do you buy?

Same, body work is cheap to sort by comparison to high performance engine problems.

Would the car be used as a daily ? :smiling:
What would be the intended use for it? Track / Shows?
If it was a daily or intended for track Substance if it was for shows or to take out once in a while Style :wink:

Would buy according to the use of it but would fix it over time either mechanically or cosmetically depending on the initial choice made :wink:

They are both important but for me style is more important.

Cars do not become classics because they have big engines, they are classics because they have a timeless quality and good design. The most expensive classics drive poorly by today's standards.

For me a car needs to be as good if not better standing still in a garage at as it is to drive.
