howya doin folks i bought an e36 318is last week and for 30 euro of petrol im getting roughly 90 miles and from bang on bottom of the red its only taking 30 quid to put it upto half a tank.
have i a dodgy gauge or just shockingly small tank in them
any help would be greatly appreciated

Iirc they have a 60ltr tank reserve included so fuel at 1.25ltr would be €75 to brim it they do about 450 miles to a tank i think was years ago when i had mine
30e should be getting you close to 150 miles sounds like somethings wrong
Start with the simple stuff
Tyre pressures
Full service new plugs etc
Check if anyone of the calipers are sticking causing drag
Run a diagnostic on it
90 miles from 24ltrs of fuel is 17mpg which is way off should do an easy 30 outside city traffic
Something is definitely up there, even the 328 does slightly better than that city drivingAs gar said, check the simple stuff first

Ah yeh sure the car would only be warming up after 2 miles until the temp gauge hits dead centre mpg will be very poor
Though an m3 would do 17mpg in the city so id still say theres definitely something wrong with your car
350-400 is what I get from a full tank. How's the lambda sensor?
Having the same issue since last week with my 316i, 1st day for 25 euro i got 48 miles, next day for 18 euro i got just over 25 miles.
Is the car heating up properly? Faulty thermostat will also contribute to higher MPG. Check for fuel leaks and as Gar says simple checks also.
strangly enough folks the car is getting great mpg now and all ive done is changed from applegreen petrol to topaz petrol and its great now
